Weekly PRAYER AND FELLOWSHIP
Weekly PRAYER AND FELLOWSHIP
Many times when we pray, we pray like little naughty children who press the door bell and run away. We do not wait for Gods response. We are hasty and in rush and unable to pray with persistence. May God grant us the patience and perseverance to seek his will and act accordingly.
Come and hear a special presentation about Wycliffe Bible Translators and their mission tomorrow at our Fellowship meeting.
Venue ; 2176 Prince of Wales Drive, Ottawa
Time : 6:30 pm.
Everyone is invited. !!
Psalm 36:5-10, ESV, Holy Bible
5 Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens,
your faithfulness to the clouds.
6 Your righteousness is like the mountains of God;
your judgments are like the great deep;
man and beast you save, O Lord.
7 How precious is your steadfast love, O God!
The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
8 They feast on the abundance of your house,
and you give them drink from the river of your delights.
9 For with you is the fountain of life;
in your light do we see light.
10 Oh, continue your steadfast love to those who know you,
and your righteousness to the upright of heart!
For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. (2 Cor 4:1-6, ESV, Holy Bible)
2 Cor 4:1-6, ESV, Holy Bible
1 Therefore, having this ministry by the mercy of God, we do not lose heart.
2 But we have renounced disgraceful, underhanded ways. We refuse to practice cunning or to tamper with God's word, but by the open statement of the truth we would commend ourselves to everyone's conscience in the sight of God.
3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.
4 In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
5 For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake.
6 For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
By sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, He[God] condemned sin in the flesh... (Romans 8:3b, ESV, Holy Bible)
(Romans 8:1-8, ESV, Holy Bible)
1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.
3 For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh,
4 in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.
6 For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.
7 For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot.
8 Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thess 5:16-18, ESV, Holy Bible)
(1 Thess 5:16-18, ESV, Holy Bible)
16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul? (Mark 8:36, ESV, Holy Bible)
Mark 8:34-38, ESV, Holy Bible
34 And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 35 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel's will save it. 36 For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul? 37 For what can a man give in return for his soul? 38 For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him will the Son of Man also be ashamed when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”
I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. (Psalm 34:1, ESV, Holy Bible)
Psalm 34: 1-8, ESV, Holy Bible
1 I will bless the Lord at all times;
his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
2 My soul makes its boast in the Lord;
let the humble hear and be glad.
3 Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
and let us exalt his name together!
4 I sought the Lord, and he answered me
and delivered me from all my fears.
5 Those who look to him are radiant,
and their faces shall never be ashamed.
6 This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him
and saved him out of all his troubles.
7 The angel of the Lord encamps
around those who fear him, and delivers them.
8 Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good!
Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!
May God work in us what is pleasing to Him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. (Hebrews 13:21b, ESV, Holy Bible)
(Hebrews 13:20-21, ESV, Holy Bible)
20 Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep,
21 equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
He who goes out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing,shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him. (Psalm 126:6, ESV, Holy Bible)
