Week 1 :
We started meditating on the "Message of the Cross" 1 Cor 1:18. What it the message of the Cross? It is the power of God for those who are being saved. It is the message of Love, forgiveness and freedom. Week 2: (08 Apr) We celebrated Jesus's triumphal entry into Jerusalem today. We observed this as kids special prayer. The message 'Parade of a King' focused on the lessons to be learned from the parade that Jerusalem witnessed 2000 years ago. Todays #Canada150 prayer focus was on the kids of Canada. Week 3: (15 Apr ) We celebrated Easter with a special prayer and fellowship. Bro. Ari Justin brought God's word based on "Resurrection brings restoration". The kids had a special devotion as well. Praise and Thank God for all those who attended the meeting. Todays #Canada150 prayer focus was on the leaders of Canada. We prayed for the federal, provincial and city leaders at all levels. Week 4: ( 22 Apr ) Today we continued on the theme of 'Message of the Cross" (1 Cor 1:18). We meditated on the truth that the message of the cross is a message of healing. Isa 53:5 states that "he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed." This is further confirmed by 1 Peter 2:24. We have 4 reasons to believe and trust in God as our healer. 1. He has revealed himself as the healer. "I am the Lord, who heals you" ( Exod 15:26). 2. Because of the sacrificial death that He conquered on the cross ( Isa 53:4-5). 3. Because of the faith we have in Him ( James 5:15), and 4. The power of the Holy Spirit that lives in us, and that will resurrects us (Romans 8:11). In order to receive God's healing, we need to come to Him with a "broken hearted" ( Psalm 147:3, 2 Kings 20:5), :"repentant heart" (2 Chr 7:14) and a "faithful and God fearing heart" (Mal 4:13). Jesus Loves you. He cares for you. Following the main meditation, the kids time had the kids recite their memory verses followed by a short devotion "Taste and see that the Lord is good". Week 5: ( 29 Apr ) In the final part of the series on "Message of the Cross" we focused on the "Message of the cross is message of victory". Christ has given us the victory through his death on the Cross. God has already paved the path to victory, and as his children, enables us to walk in it. In order to partake in His victory and receive the eternal reward of life(1 Pet 1:4-6), we must 1. Believe that Christ's crucification brings victory (Col 2:15; 1 John 3:8). 2. Commit ourselves to be crucified with him. (Gal 2:20; Rom 6:6, Rom 8:17-18). 3. Commit our passions and desires to be crucified on the cross ( Gal 5:24). Before victory, comes the cross; Before victory comes the crucification; In Christ, we are more than conquerors(Rom8:37), not just conquerors. Christ gives us a victory, that is more than victory. Come and enjoy the victory in Christ!! Today's #Canada150 prayer focus was "Canada's hospitals, healthcare, health professionals". All praise and glory be to God !! |
